Anastase HAVUGIMANA

Anastase HAVUGIMANA is a dedicated and dynamic legal practitioner with a strong foundation in Rwandan law and extensive experience in both judicial and private legal practice. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Rwanda, a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD), and is currently pursuing an LLM in Business Law. As a registered member of the Rwanda Bar Association and the East Africa Law Society, Anastase has developed a diverse legal career through roles such as Court Registrar, Associate at Oasis Law Chambers, and his current position at FK Advocates.

He specialises in corporate and commercial transactions, finance and banking, recovery, insurance, labour and employment law, and litigation. As an advocate, he represents clients before Rwandan courts, drafts and argues legal pleadings, and provides strategic legal advice. His experience as a Court Registrar gave him invaluable insight into judicial processes and legal procedures.

Anastase is fluent in Kinyarwanda and English, with a working knowledge of French. He is also IT literate, with proficiency in legal research tools and digital communication platforms, supporting efficient, accurate, and modern legal service delivery. Known for his analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong research skills, he consistently delivers effective legal solutions tailored to the needs of his clients across a wide range of legal matters.

Elsie KAMIKAZI

Elsie KAMIKAZI is a dedicated Legal Practice Manager with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD). In her role, she combines legal expertise with operational leadership to ensure the smooth and compliant functioning of the law firm.

Elsie plays a key role in managing the firm’s administrative and operational activities, while actively supporting legal teams in drafting and reviewing legal documents, preparing pleadings, conducting legal research, and delivering well-founded legal opinions. She is also instrumental in strengthening client relationships and maintaining high professional standards across the practice.

With a strong foundation in law and a growing specialization in legal practice management, Elsie brings a strategic, detail-oriented approach to law firm operations and legal support services.

 

Kenneth NDEMEZO KARENZI

Kenneth Ndemezo Karenzi is a Senior Associate offering expert legal advisory, litigation, and representation services to a diverse clientele. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD). In addition, he has earned specialised certifications in Plea Bargaining and Intellectual Property Law from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

An accomplished litigator, he regularly appears before Rwandan courts in cases involving commercial disputes, employment and labour law, banking and finance, insurance, contractual matters, and the enforcement of intellectual property rights. He is widely recognised for his meticulous case preparation, persuasive legal reasoning, and strategic approach to litigation.

Beyond his courtroom advocacy, he provides advisory services across a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, including banking and finance, intellectual property, aviation, and regulatory compliance. He is also highly proficient in company secretarial services, supporting clients with company formation, statutory compliance, corporate resolutions, and the facilitation of board and shareholder meetings.

His responsibilities further include drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, advising on licensing regimes, and delivering well-reasoned legal opinions on complex legal issues. His comprehensive understanding of the Rwandan legal framework empowers clients to make informed, compliant, and strategically sound business decisions.

Kenneth is fluent in Kinyarwanda and English, with working proficiency in French and Kiswahili. He is a member of both the Rwanda Bar Association and the East African Law Society.

Sylvie NIWEMUTONI

Sylvie holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. At FK Advocates, she designs, manages and oversees day-to-day operations including budgeting, billing, collections and implementation of firm policies. Prior to joining FK Advocates, she associated with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in the Government Portfolio Department that deals with Government Investments.

Robert GATSINZI

Robert is a Procurement Specialist in both the public and private sector. He has extensive experience in several domains of procurement and contract management, from designing to implementation with respect to the Rwanda Public procurement laws, World Bank and African Development Bank guidelines. He has served in different procurement portfolios for the Ministry of East African Community Rwanda, Trade Mark East Africa, DFID, Supreme Court of Rwanda and Rwanda Transport Development Agency (RTDA).

Robert holds a bachelor of Laws Degree from the National University of Rwanda and a Master’s Degree in Public Procurement for Sustainable Development – Turin University. He has excellent command of Kinyarwanda and English as well as several languages of the great lakes region of East Africa and working knowledge of French.

He is a member of the Rwanda Public Procurement Professionals and Lawyers of Hope.

Frank KAREMERA

Frank KAREMERA is the founder and Managing Partner of FK Advocates; one of the leading business law firms in Rwanda. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB), a Master of Laws (LLM) in Business Law from the National University of Rwanda and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (DLP) from the Institute of Legal Practice and Development.

Frank is an Accredited Arbitrator and Mediator with Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (UK) respectively. For over 14 years of experience, Frank advises clients on a range of legal matters, from commercial litigation and arbitration, banking and finance, employment and labor, intellectual property, telecommunications, media and technology law to corporate and transactional advisory services.

He has successfully handled many complex court, arbitration and mediation cases. He previously associated with Equity Juris Chambers; a prominent business law firm in Rwanda, Rwanda Enterprise Investment Company (REIC); a venture capital company as its General Counsel, and later MRB Attorneys since its inception until 2014.

Frank is a native speaker of Kinyarwanda, has excellent command of English and a working knowledge of French. He is a member of the Rwandan Bar Association, East African Law Society, and Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC).
